The Local Authority Admissions Team process all admissions to the main school and also the appeals procedure for these admissions. Admissions to the Nursery are processed by the school.  Please visit their websites for more information.

To apply for a Reception class place in our school you are required to apply online using the Bradford Council website found here.

Advice and guidance is offered to parents and other agencies regarding the availability of school places and all other admission and appeal related enquiries. More information about this can be accessed through the link to the Choice Advisor.

Parent Partnership Service is a service for parents/carers of children who have or may have special educational needs. We support parents to get the best education for their children by working together with all agencies involved.

The Admissions Team also provides advice and guidance concerning current and new legislation relating to admissions and ensures that statutory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the schools admission and appeal codes.

IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS

‘In-year applications’ are defined as applications for admission to Reception which are submitted on or after the first day of the school year of admission, or applications for any other year group.

Our school is part of the Local Authority’s in-year co-ordination scheme for in-year admissions. Parents or carers living within the Bradford District who would like their child to move to our school should first contact their child’s current school to discuss the reasons for the transfer.

 

Grove House Primary School can deliver learning to a total of 472 pupils. The total number of pupils that can be taken in each year group is shown below:

Nursery Admissions

At Grove House, we are responsible for the admission to children to our nursery classes. Children are normally admitted to a nursery class in the academic term following their 3rd birthday. If your child is 3 or about to turn 3, please contact us immediately to secure a place. Priority will be given to children that have their 4th birthday between 1st September and 31st August of the academic year of which they are applying for a place.

There are a range of day care options available for our nursery children:

Option 1 –  AM  or PM sessions

Option 2 – All day Monday to Friday (30 hours – check your eligibility here.)

Option 3 – All day Monday, all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning. (15 hours)

Option 4 – Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and all day Friday. (15 hours)

We also offer parents the option of paying for additional sessions. For example, you could select option 1,2 or 3 and pay for the additional hours. If you want to know more about this or discuss this option further, please contact us.

You can put your child’s name on our waiting list as early as you like. Once they have turned 3, we will contact you to discuss some settling in visits.

Admissions into Reception to Year 6

All admissions into our reception to year 6 classes, and appeals are processed by the Local Authority Admissions Team which our school complies with The School Admission Code and the Schools Appeal Code. Please be aware that attending our nursery does not automatically mean you will be offered a place in our Reception Classes. Applying for a place in Reception – September 2023

We are an inclusive school and welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities. If your child has an Education Care and Health Plan or any level of learning need and you be considering Grove House, please contact the school office. Our staff will be able to discuss with you our SEND School offer so that we can help you decide if Grove House can meet the needs of your child.

If your child is in year 6, you will need to apply online for a place at secondary school. The application window for September 2024 closes on 31st October 2023.  If after this date you have not applied for a place in your chosen secondary school, please follow the late application process here.
